Willi Hammes

Willi lived and worked in Germany originally.  He moved to england to work on a Playstation 2 game "Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy".  He now lives in California and works at Sony Imageworks on major films, but part of his past actually dates back to the beginning of SciFi 3D.  SciFi 3D actually credits Willi as being one of the founders and alumni here back in 1999.  Willi is a role model for all those aspiring to work their way up into films.  We first met Willi in our community and like many others he aspired to work professionally on the most exciting projects.  He never stopped working and honing his skills.  Building up his portfolio at small shops in Germany he eventually got himself a visa and headed to the USA to work at Blur Studios.  Now he works at Sony Imageworks on films like the just released Monster House and the upcoming Robert Zemeckis project Beowulf.

Corey Butler

Originally from Canada Corey worked his way up through small studios and made his way down to California to work at Blur Studios.  Corey has been there ever since.  Corey does modelling, lighting, and compositing on projects at Blur like the latest cinematics for games such as Warhammer and Rise of Legends.  We also know Corey from our community going back many years.

Tobias "zorbi" Schmidt

Tobias is the latest protege to move through SciFi 3D and on to the professional world.  Tobias has accumulated a body of professional free-lance work even before graduating from school at places like Soulpix.  Just like his mentor Willi Hammes, he's working the small shops in Germany to one day find a position at a major studio.  Tobias is very well versed in modelling, texturing, and lighting as well as compositing and other post work.

Olivier "Dr.Jones" Couston

Olivier is a natural for drawing and has been doing 3D for the past five years out of France.  Holding a Master's Degree in computer science he's working in california at a small compagny doing grapahic design and freelance jobs.  Olivier is skilled in many areas of CG but his real speciality is in character work.  Spend a minute looking through his portfolio and it's easy to see why he would make a great addition to the judge panel, especially for our character contests.

Jas "Twist Viper" Hodge

Jas is the next great artist to come through SciFi 3D and is taking over Tobias' spot as the best staff artist.  He has impressed everybody here with his natural skills in 3D and the speed at which he learns new ones.  Like Tobias he aspires to one day work professionally in the industry.  Check out his work on SciFi 3D that already looks professionally done.

Andreas Jacobsson

Andreas is a professional illustrator at PlymoVent AB in Sweden.  Andreas has been with SciFi 3D longer than any other member.  He is a great example of what makes this community tick.  An avid scifi and movie lover he also has a deep interest in computers and 3D.  Although he doesn't do 3D professionally he has remained deeply interested in CGI.  Andreas has been working with us for years doing modelling, lighthing and texturing but his real talent is in animation.  Just check out the work on our in-house project "Son of the Suns".  He is responsible for over 90% of the animation.

George "zoo" Mezori

George lives in the USA and has been interested in 3D since he first discovered Newtek's Video Toaster 20 years ago.  He has been interested in CGI and the power somebody with a home pc can harness ever since.  George has a long history in arts all the way back to high school where he was a student in theatre at one of the presitgous Youth Performing Arts School's.  He was playing with 8mm cameras as a child making his own Indiana Jones and claymation movies and editing them with a pair of scissors.  Today that same desire exists to explore what can be done with a home pc.  SciFi 3D was created by him in 1999 to help promote fan films (by Rachel Moss).  Today SciFi 3D has become one of most visible and widely visited 3D websites on the internet.  With the 1000's of freely downloadable models and community of artists SciFi 3D has had a hand in the creation of some of the best fan films ever made.  Today George runs the SciFi 3D website and is expanding the scope of the site to include 3D contests with dozens of sponsors.  His main goals are to keep supporting fan films and original works while explanding the influence of SciFi 3D in the 3D community.
