ALIEN Space Jockey One of my favorite scenes from any movie... the Space Jockey. Who was he? What was he doing? Part of the ALIEN species? Unwillingly infected by the Aliens? Or was he a saboteur or terrorist trying to infect other worlds?

This last pic is the close to re-completed mesh. The render took just under 1 hour.
Reduced to 300,265 polygons (4,065,794 polygons when subpatched)--Just a few more texture tweaks and I should be done..... |
Description:
Here are some more texture tweaks. I need to fix a couple of holes I've found in the mesh, rework the support struts for the telescope/gun, and finish texuring the back of the jockey's seat. |

You ALIEN nuts who go over the behind-the-scenes details like me... did you know that the crew used their children in the space suits?? That way they set looked much larger than they would had to build it for normal size adults. Very clever idea. I also heard about how Giger wanted to rip the whole thing down and start over b/c he wasn't happy with the quality of the set. They successfully convinced him that a lot can be hidden on film. And most probably know that GIGER has his ex-wifes bones hanging on the wall in his living room?? |
Description:
Took a three layers of passes and about 3 hours to render.
The astronauts are a bit static because I'm having issues getting the bones to function.
